Pony rides are a source of great excitement and wonder to children of all ages.  They are a cheap and easy form of entertainment for families. All facilities, including steps for smaller children, are provided, making Pony Rides a highly transportable and accessible activity.  City children rarely have the opportunity to experience the fun of riding a pony, so Pony Rides are a wonderful chance for them to learn a little more about one of the many animals on our world.
The Melbourne School of Pony Equitation has successfully run Pony Rides at major events and shows within Melbourne.  With crowds of over 100,000 our Pony Rides have been extremely popular, with queues of children and parents waiting for their turn. The rides offer children who have not been in contact with horses and ponies the opportunity to first hand experience animals that are as familiar to them, from their early learning, as cats and dogs. Children are able to ride, pat and groom the ponies, giving them the thrill of close contact with these animals.
Pony Rides can be organised for half-day events, full days, or successive days.  The established price per ride is $4.00. Depending upon the demand and queues, rides last for approximately five minutes.

The ponies provided by the school are exceptionally well mannered and healthy, and are trained to take inexperienced riders.  All transportation of the ponies is organised by the Melbourne School of Pony Equitation. Accommodation in stables or yards is preferred if rides are required on successive days.
The instructors are fully qualified and highly experienced in teaching and aiding children of varying levels of confidence and ability.

Pony Rides need relatively little space, a minimum of 10 square metres and can be run on a variety of surfaces, though grass, sand or tanbark are preferable.

Helmets (Australian Safety Approved Standard) are provided by the school, and we are a fully accredited member of the Australian Horse Riding Centres and the Australian Coaching Council.
