HELMETS:
Helmets are provided by the school for the assessment lessons, first term of lessons and holiday programmes. Helmets need to be purchased by the end of a pupil’s first term of riding lessons. Helmets can be purchased through your instructor from MSPE, or from a saddlery store - they must be of an A.S.A. standard. This is because their own helmets can be a better fit and contamination of head lice is less likely to occur.
CLOTHING:
Pupils will need to wear tracksuit pants, comfortable jeans, leggings or jodhpurs (by far the best for riding). Any form of pull on boot is fine as long as it has a heel and no laces. Suitable warm clothing and a raincoat are essential for Term’s 2 and 3. Sunscreen will need to be applied to all exposed skin for Term’s 1 and 4.
EQUIPMENT:
The school provides all required tack for all lessons. If pupils would like to bring along their own grooming kit, crop or any other riding equipment they are more than welcome to do so. Please check with your instructor before using anything new, as it may need adjusting for your specific horse.
LATE ARRIVALS:
If a pupil is more than 15 minutes late for a group lesson, they will be unable to join into that class and will consequently forfeit their lesson. This is because we run a tight schedule, and it is not safe to have the group lesson exposed to any interruptions of it’s timetable.
MAKE-UP LESSONS:
The purpose of the “make-up lesson” is to enable your child to “make-up” a class they have missed because of illness. Due to the popularity of classes, we offer a maximum of two (2) “make-up” lessons per term. These must be made up before the end of the term in which your child was absent ( otherwise the lesson is forfeited ). You must notify the school of absenteeism prior to the class to be eligible for a “make-up lesson”. Term fees are payable in advance, and then “make-up lessons” can be organised accordingly. It is your responsibility to contact the school to arrange a “make-up lesson”.
WEATHER:
Lessons are always on - rain, hail or shine! The school always conducts one Theory Lesson, one Trail ride and one Games day each term. Theory lessons are usually conducted on bad weather days so as to keep the good weather for riding every time.
HOLIDAY PROGRAMS:
Holiday programs are conducted every school holidays and are always extremely popular. Please remember to book your place in any program as soon as the schedule is released that way there are not too many disappointments.
